Established in 1985

The English Ministry of Hallelujah Church was started in 1985 with the vision of ministering to English-speaking internationals coming to Seoul for the '88 Olympics. Hallelujah Church was planted in 1980 in Seoul by a visionary group of families who dreamt of a church that reached across the denominations and the nations for the gospel mission. The senior pastors of Hallelujah Church have come from the Korean diaspora (USA).

Our Mission

We exist to glorify God by exalting Jesus Christ, which we believe will happen when we serve the expatriate and English-speaking community in the Seongnam-Seoul metro area through the authentic worship of the Redeemer God and the building up of Christ’s disciples for the church’s mission. ​

HEM has been a huge blessing to our family. Lisa and I have served as the lead EM pastor and family since 2002. We raised our children, made friends, and grew in the Lord all at HEM. And we are so grateful to be have been a part of HEM for so long. We invite you to make HEM your spiritual home away from home while you are in Korea and pray that HEM will be as much a blessing to you as it has been to our family.

​Greetings! I’m Pastor Aaron from Australia and serve as Assistant Pastor at HEM! My wife and I have been living in Korea for 7 years and have been at HEM for 3 of those. It’s been a joy so far serving the community of HEM, and growing together spiritually and personally. We look forward to getting the opportunity to meet you too and welcome you to the HEM family.
